My sister just started photography, and she wanted me to help her position herself in the market better in order to gain more clients. I liked this article, and the advice to be active in local schools. This would be a great way for her to position herself, since most graduating seniors usually are in need of a photo shoot. These seem like great tips for photographers who want to do senior pictures. I liked your tip to get to know the student’s interests and incorporating them into the shot. That seems like such a great piece of advice, because seniors would want photos of their final year in high school to celebrate what they love to do. If I were a senior again, I would definitely avoid studio shots and have a photo shoot with the horses that I used to ride when I was on the equestrian team. I would have appreciated those photos much more than the studio shots that my parents paid for.

Thanks for the tips! I only was able to get two senior sessions in this year since I have started photography back in October ’14. Really am trying to master editing to set my photos apart from others. Would love any recommendations to enchanting my style. Right now I am using three nails collection by greater the gatsby and all the free actions from coffee shop blog but still lacking the look i want to obtain.
