Hi Tim – If you’re not seeing any printer options, you may not have any printers configured for your machine. That is the first thing to check. Clicking Page Setup in Exposure opens the operating system’s Page Setup dialog, where all the printers you have connected to your computer are listed. The printer does not need to be connected to your computer to select from the paper and print sizes, but it will not be listed unless you have connected your computer to that printer previously.

If the printer is connected but you are not seeing printers listed, something is not working correctly. Let’s get you in contact with our support team about it. Here is a link to open a ticket.

Does the page set-up button only work when a printer is connected?

I’m trying to experiment with this in the free trial of Exposure X4, but when I click page setup it doesn’t do anything and I remain unable to choose which paper size I want to print.

Hi Michiel. Printing partially in color sounds like a printer driver issue. Let’s get you in contact with out support team about it. They will need more information about your computer system to help address the problem. Here is a link to where you can fill out a support ticket with that info.

No, Exposure’s printing sizes are not limited to A3. You can select from the supported print sizes for printers attached to your computer. There will be more print size options when you connect your printer at home.

1) In B&W it prints fine but on color i get only part of the image, the rest is blocked out (pure white) and it has white stripes. What can be the problem?
2) I can only select a size of A3. At the office that is the maximum size. I hope that at home i can select A2 on mij Epson printer. Is that possible or is X3 limited to A3 size?

Thanks for commenting, Bernard. That’s a good idea, and it could offer a possible solution. In addition to saving his photo to a file, Robert wants to include color profile information with his exported images. This is done to ensure that the colors of his photos look exactly the same on his screen as they will when they’re printed from an online printing service.

Thanks for the clarification. It’s easy to see why color management is important for your workflow. There are many applications for user-directed color management, including the preparation of photos for a printing service.

It would be great and I will tell you why it is crucial to me. I use a over the net print service offering pro services (short turn around but high cost). It also offer low cost services (on the same printers but with less priority). The default option is to “enhance” the uploaded jpeg-files where the back-end will do some post processing (like output sharpening, boosting colors, filling the paper etc.). But they also offer an alternative where they don’t touch the uploaded image, they just print it as is 1:1 pixel perfect. This is the perfect option as long as you know exactly what you send to the printer (just like the pro service but for 1/5 of the cost). The ICC profiles of their printers can be downloaded from their website and I use them to soft proof before I upload for print. Being able to control output sharpening, render intent and to apply ICC profiles are crucial for my workflow. It enables me to know pretty much exactly what I will get when I upload my post processed jpeg files to a print service that will not touch the jpegs, just print them. I hope you get why this is important to me and why I am holding on to Lr…

But generally, the new update is a huge step forward and I think I will replace LR soon.
