We don’t have plans to support edits from Lightroom, but the automatic adjustments coming in Exposure X6 may help ease the pains of reediting lots of images quickly. The editing tools in Exposure are different than the controls in Lightroom even though they have the same name. For example, adding 10 to the Contrast slider in Exposure will not apply the same type or amount of contrast when applied in Lightroom. Unfortunately, that means images migrated from Lightroom will not include edits unless they are rendered files like JPEGs or TIFFs.

For future releases, maybe you could lead with the “people who buy now will be able to upgrade free when the new version is released,” but not say anything about a time frame until a solid date is determined. I have a hard time with “soon” when I’m waiting for features that will be introduced. Just a thought.

That’s understandable, Ole. As much as we want to give a solid date, we have to make sure the software backs up our claims. We want to make sure the new version is worth the wait.

We’re glad to hear you are interested in Exposure X6, Richie. The video uses beta software, which has not gone through the rigorous polishing process that the release version will. In short, yes, there will be improvements to the speed over the version used to make the video.

Applying borders that don’t cover image content is on our radar. I’ll add a note about your interest in that new feature in our logs for the design team.

As for the messages you are receiving about Exposure X5 not being compatible. We are always working on small updates to fix possible issues caused by system changes. We either have a fix in the works right now, or we’ve already corrected the issue in the latest installers on our website.
