Not officially, no. Exposure X5 is only compatible with Photoshop Elements 15 and newer. It will require a custom install. Our support team can step you through the process, if you’re interested. Here is a link to open a ticket.

Thanks for commenting, Rich. There are a couple of bottlenecks that could cause delay when applying edits to your images. Typically any sluggishness when Exposure is first installed happens during the construction of a pre-render cache. This can take some time and will affect performance initially. It will depend on the number of images in the folders you’re accessing and the location where they are saved. After the cache is built, the performance should be much better.

Exposure has supported color TIFF images for a long time now. The new feature is compatibility with single-channel TIFF images, which can be produced when you scan black and white film.

Thanks for commenting. There isn’t much restriction on the size of TIFF files. So, you would be able to work with up to a 25,000 by 25,000 pixel image. However, that is enormous and will likely cause any computer system to run very slow. I suggest giving the free demo a try for editing huge shots.

IS THERE A SIZE LIMITATION (GB? – PIXEL? – iNCH?)

Thanks for the feedback, Emi. Compositing is something we have on our radar for a future version of Exposure. Just to be clear, our plans for that feature is for images, not video. Is that what you’re asking for?

This is what I would suggest to Exposure team. You do great photography software and I am sure you will keep doing great things! I love these new features in X5, now I hope you can bring compositing and such, green screen keying and such. But I still think these features that are making to X5 release are greatly needed and are good to see!

Hi Jerry – Yes, I know exactly what you mean. That functionality is built in Exposure. It’s called Solo Mode. Enabling it will only allow for a single panel to be open at a time. Simply right-click in the lower right quadrant where the panels are listed and select Solo Mode from the list. Attached is a screenshot.

Thanks for the info, Jerry. Introducing basic functionality for video files like displaying a clip thumbnail, or previewing the file is what we’re considering to add in a future version of Exposure, but not Exposure X5. We have heard requests for additional video features such as trim, join, split, etc, but we haven’t committed to making any of them.
