The ability to compare up to four images side-by-side is useful in several scenarios. When you’re culling a set of photos, it helps you choose the best shot from several similar images. You can zoom or pan in each image to compare details such as facial expressions. When editing photos, the side-by-side preset audition enables you to compare multiple preset options before applying them to your photo.

I have Exposure X3, and I’m trying to figure out how to compare images (2 images side by side, or 4-up). My main window doesn’t match what you show in the video. I don’t have the Layout dropdown that you show. Instead, I have a slider that allows me to change the size of the thumbnails in the grid. I found how to audition presets, which gives me similar controls to what you’re showing for comparing images, but I can’t find that Layout option anywhere…
Hi Tony! The thumbnail size slider is displayed when you’re in grid view mode. Also in the grid view, you won’t see Layout options appear in the top dock. They will display when you’re viewing the image at full screen. Just double click on an image in the folder and you should see the Layout options to choose from.
