We have released several minor updates to Exposure X3 since the release of the Complete Workflow Update last month. These updates are free to anyone who owns Exposure X3.
You can check to see if you have the latest version of Exposure right in the program. Choose Check for Updates from the Help menu. If an update is available, Exposure will provide you with a link to download the update installer.
Feature Improvements
Included in the latest updates are several feature enhancements:
- Live font preview for text and metadata watermarks
- Improved visibility of the vignette placement indicator
- A new option to choose your export folder destination at the time of export
- Creation time of exported photos now matches the original image capture time
- Performance optimization for large keyword libraries
- Stability improvements

I had a notice that there was an update available which I thought was 3.5.4 but it seemed to fail and now it states that 3.5.3. is the latest update available?
I was wondering if anyone else has had the same occurrence.

Thanks for commenting, Adam. The full name of the latest update is Exposure X3.5.3.104. You can learn what is included in the latest version by reading the release notes, here. The easiest way to check and see if you are using the latest version is from within Exposure. Go to the Help menu, and choose Check for Updates. That will ensure you are using the most current version.
I think it would be helpful if there was more information provided about specific updates, when they are offered, as opposed to what seems to be the current policy of users having to search the website for information. If I am missing something, let me know. But, every time I have been offered an update whilst using X3, there is no accompanying information about what the update offers. Hence, I have to decide whether to interrupt my workflow, search online and then, decide whether to shutdown (X3 and LR) to update my program.
When Exposure detects that an update is available, it presents a link to the release notes page on our website. This is where you’ll find a full summary of the changes in each update. Next time there’s an update, see if this meets your needs. If not, let us know so we can think about how to improve the visibility of this information.

hi! is it possible that the latest version of X3 isn’t reading the right white balance / tint values of the the .arw RAW files on the new Sony A7III? the RAWs look more green/blue tinted than should be normal. ( this is in comparison to their related jpgs, and compared to the RAW rendering in lightroom) Thanks!!

RAW and JPEG files will look different when compared because the camera typically applies some level of enhancement to the JPEG image. Exposure’s RAW rendering profiles are calibrated to be as neutral as possible to give the most accurate simulations when used with a preset. This is most likely what you’re noticing.
Let’s get you in contact with our support team just to make sure everything on your computer is working correctly. If you could supply us with a few examples of RAW images that show the issues you’re experiencing, that would be great. Here is a link to open a support ticket.

I’m aware of the the differences in RAW rendering compared to the camera’s JPGs, this phenomenon only is appearing in Alien Skin when working with A7III files, and not on my other Canon, or Fuji X bodies.

Thanks, Isky. I was just making sure. Thank you for providing the example video and for contacting the support team. The Sony A7 III is not on our officially supported camera list just yet. This is most likely the cause of what you are noticing.
An Exposure X3 – is a promising product, especially compared to Lightroom CC.
But, alas, it lacks few very important (IMHO) features:
1. chromatic aberration correction
2. perspective correction tool like Lightroom’s Transform tab
3. vignetting corrections in Lens Correction panel
4. list of supported lenses also has some holes, particularly for Sigma lenses
5. creating panoramas or HDR images
Can we hope that these features’ll be realised in future ? If -‘YES’ – then when ? (I mean – in which year or update you’re planning to do this)

We haven’t published a list new features that will be available in the next version of Exposure, yet. When we make a big announcement like that, we’ll include all the details about it right here on our blog. So, this is the best space to watch.
Which Sigma lenses are you looking for in particular? Would you be willing to share images that you have shot using them with us for testing and evaluation purposes? That would help us build support for them.

As for Sigma lenses… I’m using these 2 lenses:
Sigma lens — 18-200 F3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM Contemporary
Sigma lens — 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM
Of course I can share images shot using them. But I’ld like to clarify some details:
1. how many images do you need ?
2. can I send images in RAW format ? (or you need only jpeg)
3. is there any demands for images (depth of field, focal length and so on..)
4. what the best way to share images ? (send via email, or just put them on any public drive, like Google Drive.. ? )
