We love to share details about Exposure X6 as it comes together. One of the great new features is the Advanced Color Editor, which provides a simple, intuitive way to replace colors in a photo. We made this video to show you how it works.
The advanced color editor builds on Exposure’s innovative 3D masking for making precise color modifications. Simply select color regions in the image and refine the selection with easy-to-use adjustments, then choose what new color to change it to. Multiple color replacements can be performed in a single step, and the effects can be saved as a preset to use again in the future.
The release will be here soon. Keep watch on our blog and social channels for more news about Exposure X6. It’s a great time to buy Exposure if you don’t own it already. Anyone who purchases now will automatically receive a free upgrade to Exposure X6.
If X6 is coming soon…should I wait before upgrading to X5?
Also, are there directions when installing newer versions to remove older versions?
Thanks for the interest, Mike. You don’t need to wait. If you purchase a copy of Exposure X5 now, you’ll get a copy of Exposure X6 when it’s released.
You don’t have to remove older versions of Exposure you have installed, but we do have instructional articles about it. Here are links to uninstall software from macOS and another to uninstall from Windows.
What’s the cutoff date for the X5 purchase, Jimmy? I purchased on Aug 25 – will I be covered for X6 too?
You’re covered, Pete.
Will there be an update price reduction for owners of Exposure X5 when X6 is released?
Thanks for commenting, Bruce. No, there is only one upgrade price. You’re welcome to check out the free demo of Exposure X6 when it’s available. The new features might be worth investing, but they might not be worth it to you. You can always upgrade to future versions of Exposure using your license code for Exposure X5.
Okay, that’s a killer feature right there. Yes you can do this in other tools, but that’s a great tool that makes it look easy.
This will be a great feature.
Can you tell me what color space is used as the working space under the hood? Useful (well, necessary) to know for optimum conversion to print output space.
Thanks for the comment, Tim. Exposure’s working colorspace is ProPhoto RGB.
Thanks Jimmy. Looking forward to getting hands on X6 now.
When editing infrared photos I usually use the channel mixer to swap the red and blue channel.
Can this tool be used in such a way?
Not yet Johan, but keep a look out for the color shift coming in X6.
Thank you, I will! :)
Will the color shift work in the same way as a channel mixer in Photoshop for example?
The Advanced Color Editor in Exposure X6 can be used for shifting colors like the channel mixer.
