I’d like to introduce Quinn Ryan Mattingly. He’s an American documentary and editorial photographer based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Quinn is a big Exposure advocate. His favorite looks are Technicolor 2-Strip, Fuji Reala, and the color tints from the many Polaroid presets.
Vietnam has been Quinn’s home for nearly a decade. He is the photo editor of the English publication Oi Vietnam. He handles assignments for other international publications, and he works on stories of social importance in the region as his personal work.
Speaking of which, take a look at some of Quinn’s handiwork. He documented the unique experience of a native Vietnamese seeing cold and snow for the first time. The model wore traditional Vietnamese dresses called ao dai for the shoot. It’s an interesting juxtaposition of this warm weather dress and model where they don’t belong.
You can find more on his work on his website.
Gorgeous light and post-processing on the models!
Great article. Thanks.
