Exposure X has a brand new photo brushing system that allows you to make changes to specific parts of your image. For example, you can whiten teeth, dodge and burn, or sharpen eyes. Any effect in Exposure can be brushed on a photo, eliminating the need for a round trip to another program.
It’s also possible to stack effects, a frequently requested feature. With photo brushing, you can precisely control where each effect is applied to your image.
Brushing is available when using Exposure as a plug-in for Photoshop and Lightroom, as well as when using Exposure as a standalone app. In standalone mode, changes made by brushing are nondestructive and can be edited later.

Great job on the brushes. Closer to LR than C1, which I much prefer. Now only thing missing is a Kelvin Scale WB and an effective style clone/heal similar to LR and I am done with C1 and LR.
A color editor like C1 would be an added bonus!

That’s great, but I don’t want spent 99 bucks every year to get a new feature. Changing White Balance is one of the most important Features in every RAW-converter.

Are you using the layers on the raw file? Since Exposure X is supposed to be a raw converter, I am wondering about this.
Exposure X is definitely a raw converter. We store layer information in a sidecar file, which is stored near the raw file.

( Now it will be cool if we can have a histogram with highlights and shadows alert. No it does not sound fancy, but is very practical. :) )

Yes, a histogram with alerts would be quite a fancy new feature to add to the software. We have it on the list of things to consider integrating in a future version.

Exposure x supports the X-Pro 1 which uses an X-trans CMOS sensor.
Exposure X sounds terrific andi’m looking forward to its release. Before you release, please consider adding a function to rotate fully from landscape to portrait orientation. This has been the sole annoying issue I’ve had with the stand alone version. Uploading portrait oriented raw files always open sideways in Exposure 7 with no way to fully rotate. Thanks again.

Can you adjust HSL settings for that brush? For example you wanna change blue shirt to red shirt.. That would be a killer function.

That kind of effect is possible to do in Exposure X. All of the controls in Exposure can be adjusted locally with the brushing tool. Changes made on the Tone Curve and Color panels will easily change the color of said shirt.

I have been using Photo Mechanic and DXO before sending to Exposure 7. Now it looks like I can skip Photo Mechanic and only use DXO occasionally. Great Job!

They sure are, Bruce. Even though the workflows are slightly different between Photoshop and Lightroom.
