Removing distracting elements from photos is a great way to keep the viewer’s focus on your subject. Exposure’s flexible Spot Heal tool makes easy work of eliminating blemishes, smoothing textures, removing unneeded items from the frame, and more. The Spot Heal tool has two brush options: Clone and Heal, which have slightly different uses.
This video demonstrates the Spot Heal tool’s Clone brush. The Clone brush enables you to easily remove distracting elements in areas with defined edges or strong patterns. It is usually most helpful for duplicating or removing items from a scene.
Watch the video and learn strategies for reproducing believable cloned textures. You’ll learn about adjusting the brush feathering amount when working in areas with patterns, how to apply brush strokes for complete coverage, and more.
Training Videos are of no use to me as I am deaf and that makes following a video very hard. I would much prefer a written instruction of what to do.
Thanks for commenting, Charles. I’m sorry to hear that they’re tough for you to follow. All of our video tutorials also have transcripts written out to accompany them, which might help make things more clear. Also, YouTube has caption abilities – have you tried using those? What kind of instruction works best for you?
