Well that’s great, but at the same time slightly disappointing.
Just checked my recent purchase and it appears I bought my first ever copy of an exposure product (X5) on June 5th.

I’m sorry, Darron. Orders placed before July 15, 2020 date do not qualify for a complimentary upgrade. When Exposure X6 is released you’ll be able to try our free trial so you can decide if the new features are worthwhile to you.

Hi, is one of the new features a dedicated “help file”, the type any professional program like Lightroom or Dxo comes with? If not, I will not upgrade. I already did not upgrade to V5 from V4 because of that very reason. For me, it is not acceptable to view though dozens of videos or ask in a facebook group in order to find out a simple operation detail. Thanks.

May I ask what the minimum system requirements will be required for Exposure X6, for Mac OS, Hardware, Adobe etc?

– Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan or newer, Windows 7 64-bit or newer
– An Intel Core 2 processor or compatible
– A monitor with 1280 × 768 resolution or greater
– 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended
– GPU made in 2015 or newer recommended
I agree with Bernie. A help file or online user reference manual would help a lot. It’s the one thing I don’t like about x5. I’ve frequently contacted support when a user manual would have done the trick.

I love Exposure as an occasional plug-in, but I struggle to justify upgrading every year and from what I’ve seen from the new features in X6, I don’t think it will benefit my workflow that greatly. Much of what’s “new” is already adequately covered in the other software I own. I think I’ll pass this year and stick with X5. Good luck and I look forward to X7.

Thanks for your interest. Support for the Fujifilm X100V is coming, and hopefully quite soon. We are awaiting support from a third-party supplier. Once they have added support we’ll test it and release a point update.
There are plans for adding new presets. We’ll share more about them soon.
Hi, great news. Will there be a visual highlight of used sliders? Will mean, I think it would be a good idea to highlight the sections and the sliders which are already used in the editing process. Would make it easier to have an overview of what I already have set.

Thanks for commenting. No, we don’t have that planned. You can hover your cursor over the layer thumbnail to view a list of all the adjusted controls for that layer. It doesn’t highlight the sliders, but it lists them out.

Happy to hear the release of X6 with improved performance and better highlight/shadow recovery.
I find exposure the best engine to convert RAW files when it comes to skin tones and more realistic representation.
Though when it comes to architecture and food photography, useful tools like dodging and burning aren’t so pleasing, pushing me as user to go to other softwares.
Here are some powerful and handy tools i would like to see on Exposure.
1. Auto mask (allowing user to paint easily)
2. True non destructive adjustment masks (basic panel on adjustment layer reacts different since is under a JPG file).
3. Create HDR DNG files.
Thats it.
Praying to God for these tools.

The improvements to processing speed in Exposure X6 will make brushing masks smoother and easier to control. I suggest that you take a look at the free trial once it becomes available.

Yes, Exposure X6 will support Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
Great news! Are there any DAM enhancements in X6? Will a powerful GPU be needed for Exposure to make it very fast or will it still be “just” fast on just a fast CPU (like X5 version now does)?
Thanks for commenting. The processing speed improvements will make lots of things more smooth, including navigating through folders and filtering images.
For Exposure X6, we recommend using a GPU that was made in 2015 or newer.
Jimmy, I was rather curious IF X6 will still be as fast as X5 on systems without powerful GPU but with decent CPU – for instance on MacBook Pro 13″ with i5/i7 and Intel Iris graphics.
Yes. The GPU, even a simple built-in card from Intel, can be used to speed processing in Exposure X6. We’ll be sharing more information about it soon.

The Highlights and shadows, in particular, that really needs to be improved compared to others. A little freshening up of the UI whilst not fully necessary would be nice! Make the basics better before the bells and whistles.
At this stage, I have tried most of the others and feel that Exposure is the closest to becoming the strongest competition for Lightroom. Don’t forget the UI, its more important than you may think!!

I’ve tried out most raw editors so far but I´ll stick to Exposure most of all due to the extremely tolerant file handling.
I’m mostly use 35mm film nowadays. Then you fall into a very tedious metadata handling.
Have You any thoughts on developing a possibility for metadata import of some kind? Or integration of third party programs (ExifTool or similar)?
Perhaps also a simpel “arrow” aside the coordinates linking to some of the free map programs!

Yes, we are within the free-upgrade window. If you buy a copy of Exposure X5 today, you’ll get an upgrade to Exposure X6 when it’s released.
Es muy decepcionante, que a primeros de Julio de 2020 compre el programa, exposure 5 y un mes después vayan a sacar una actualización nueva y me vea obligado a tener que comprarla por que no son capaces o no quieren actualizar gratis a sus nuevos usuarios. Por lo menos podrían haberlo comunicado antes de hacer la compra que de barata no a tenido nada, me siento completamente engañado por ustedes, por no informar a los nuevos clientes en en breve tienen intención de sacar una nueva actualización. Un programa que aun estando bien no volveré a recomendar a nadie precisamente por su política de ventas. Hay veces en las que hay que preocuparse más por los compradores, que por hacer dinero. La actualización de Exposure es opcional y su versión actual seguirá funcionando a la perfección. Habrá una prueba gratuita para ver si las nuevas funciones merecen la pena. Si decide actualizar su software, su código actual calificará para el precio de actualización reducido.
GPU newer than 2015? I still use my Mac Pro 2013 and it works fine.
Thanks for the comment. Exposure X6 will work with older GPU configurations, too. Our recommendations are where users will see the most benefit.

Hello Jimmy. Will Exposure X6 be able to read files in LAB color space? It was on your “working on” list after Exposure X5 was released.
That didn’t make this release, Christian. Exposure does its processing in ProPhoto color space.
I am an X5 user. If I try the demo of X6, how will that affect my previous use of X5 – library, and recorded user settings, for example?

Hi, Steve. It might. Exposure X6 officially supports Windows 10 and newer. We thoroughly test Exposure X6 on that system, which is why we guarantee it will work. While Exposure X5 may also work on other configurations, we haven’t tested them. When Exposure X6 is available, I recommend you give the demo a try.

No problem, Luiggi. Yes, the Sony A6600 is supported. The Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G Lens is not currently supported, but we are working on it. In fact, we need example images shot with that camera to use for testing and evaluation. Would you be interested in submitting some photos for that purpose? If so, here is a link to open a ticket about it.

Thanks for your interest, Peter. Yes, we are adding more lens profiles. Exposure supports the use of pen tablets, but that does not include pen pressure sensitivity.
Will a person be able to enter image info, such as location, headline, description, source info and photographer info as well? Also, what kind of lens correction and key stoning corrections will be available?

Glad to hear you’re interested, Rich. We are working hard to make sure everything works perfectly before we let Exposure X6 into the wild. We’d hate for people to have a bad experience with the new version because of a bug.
the only thing i miss is the color profiles, like my raw photos appear with the settings as if they were JPEG, adobe Lr has this function in color profiles, if you do that, it will bring a lot of people not signing adobe , take heavy color profiles please, I’m using JPEG more than RAW for that. a feather.LOVE X5 AND THAT COMES X6
You can use DCP color profiles with Exposure. Here is a video that shows you the process. Is that what you are looking for, Jose?
I wondered if there was any chance of ever including color matching two images .( or does it do it already and I havent found it)
Hi, Robert. The Advanced Color Editor coming in Exposure X6 will enable you to match colors between images. Using that in conjunction with the automatic adjustments will help you give photos a consistent look, fast.
