Here is the winning shot for Alien Skin’s most recent Photo of the Month contest. The photo-sharing theme of last month’s contest was warmth. Congratulations to April Milani!
Our guest judge for the contest was photographer Theodore Kefalopoulos. About the winning photo, he said, “This is pure fine art portraiture shot in a way that draws the attention to the thought-provoking hidden face. A symbolic, pagan-oriented photo adorned with a clever choice of texture and colors. Also, the creative effect optic is a vital element of this photo.”
April Milani is a photographer and educator. She has a well-developed talent for creating gorgeous fine art images using creative effect lenses. When connecting with April about winning the contest, we asked her one simple question. Her answer is below. Thanks, April!
How has Exposure helped you?
For years I claimed to be a 99% Lightroom and 1% Photoshop, girl. Then, Alien Skin Software came along. Exposure brought back my first love of film–which I still shoot and develop myself–in a way that no other software can. The best part is that it only takes a couple of mouse clicks to use. Now I can’t live without it!
There were so many great photos shared last month. Below are just a few of them. Thanks everyone who shared!
Photo of the Month award winners receive a few choice items from Alien Skin Software. They get one of our super soft tri-blend t-shirts and all our photography software.
We are planning a few changes to the contest, including opening it up to our Instagram followers. Because of this, we are taking a hiatus from the monthly theme. We will make an announcement in October about the contest changes, so stay tuned for the exciting news.
