Friday Faves

By ||Categories: Photography|

Well, I don't know about you but spring has sprung and I'm definitely looking forward to warmer weather and longer evenings to go out and shoot in. We saw out the winter this week with the theme of "Shadows" in the Exposure User Group with a few remnants of the previous week's "Daylight" coming in over the weekend. I'm thinking of running with the imaginative theme of "Spring" for next week. What do you guys reckon? I've looked back over the week's photos and have made the following selections. There were a LOT of photos of pretty women to look through, which is always nice, but there are only so many I feel I can choose, which makes selecting my faves very tough. If you want to increase your chances of standing out and being featured, I would recommend maybe shooting something different or maybe trying to bring something unique with your composition or point of view. I see a lot of the same people submitting the same types of images over and over, which is great for consistency, but we may want to challenge ourselves to diversify a bit. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.

TGIF! The weekend is just around the corner, which means 2 things: it's time to start winding down and it's time to look back over some favourite submissions from our Facebook User Groups for Exposure and Snap Art.

Well, it's been a fun and crazy week for us Aliens as we are just getting back from the fabulous WPPI conference in Las Vegas. It was great meeting up with all the fantastic people who stopped by our booth. It's so cool to meet you all in person! Big thanks too to the brilliant photographers who presented and demoed on the stand: Parker J, Salvador Carmona, David Mecey, Susan Stripling, Michael Gilbert, Dark Roux, Callaway Gable, Hiram Trillo and Dylan & Sara. You guys rocked the house! Looks like you all have been busy too - the work that has been shared over the last week is simply gorgeous. It's been tough narrowing it down, but here are some of my personal faves from the week:

Artistic Wedding Photography with Jim Pollard

By ||Categories: Exposure, Photography|

New Zealand-based wedding photographer Jim Pollard recently bagged some sweet new photography gear courtesy of our Photo of the Quarter competition. We caught up with Jim for a quick chat about his background and how he got to where he is today. Check out the deets, along with some beautiful imagery, here.

David & Hernan’s Head-to-Head Shoot

By ||Categories: Photography|

Greetings everyone. If you've followed the blog for any length of time, you probably recognize the names David Mecey and Hernan Rodriguez. They are both outstanding photographers that live and work out of Los Angeles, California. As it turns out, Joe and I swung by the sunshine state on our way back from Mystic 2015 in Portland, OR. What better way to pay a couple of A-list photographer buddies a visit than to see them shoot. One of the great things that we had the opportunity to do was grab a little video footage. Over the next weeks, we'll be sharing tidbits from each of the pros from their deep wells of knowledge.
